Delhi Bolsters EV Infrastructure with Three New Charging-Ready Bus Depots for Expanding Electric Fleet
0 মন্তব্য

TL;DR

Delhi is developing three new EV charging-enabled bus depots to support its goal of an 80% electric public bus fleet by 2028, expanding its green transport infrastructure.

The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has commenced work on transforming three more bus depots in Nand Nagri, Wazirpur, and Sukhdev Vihar into electric vehicle (EV) charging-ready facilities. This initiative is a crucial step in Delhi's ambitious plan to establish a fully electric public transport ecosystem and transition 80% of its public bus fleet to electric by 2028 under the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy 2020.

The project, with an estimated cost of around ₹10 crore for each depot, is expected to be completed within the next four months. These depots will feature high-capacity charging points, energy-efficient systems, and smart load management to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime for the growing e-bus fleet. With approximately 2,000 electric buses already in operation and another 3,000 expected by March 2026, these new charging facilities are vital to accommodate the rapid expansion of Delhi's electric bus network.
