TL;DR
Yamaha launched the retro-styled XSR155 and the refreshed FZ-Rave motorcycles in India, broadening its appeal to diverse rider segments.
Yamaha has significantly expanded its motorcycle lineup in India with the launch of the XSR155 and the FZ-Rave. The Yamaha XSR155, priced at an introductory Rs. 1,49,990, blends neo-retro styling with the proven performance of the MT-15 platform. It features a 155cc liquid-cooled engine with Variable Valve Actuation, delivering 18.1 bhp and 14.2 Nm of torque, coupled with a six-speed gearbox and an assist-and-slipper clutch, appealing to younger buyers seeking a mix of classic aesthetics and modern performance.
Joining the new offerings is the Yamaha FZ-Rave, launched at Rs. 1,17,218. This model shares much of its underpinnings with the standard FZ but distinguishes itself with a fresh front design. Powering the FZ-Rave is a reliable 149cc air-cooled engine producing 12.2bhp, paired with a five-speed gearbox. Its light kerb weight of 136 kg and a 13-litre fuel tank make it an agile and practical option for daily commuting and relaxed rides. These launches underscore Yamaha’s focus on variety and rider experience in the Indian two-wheeler market.
