TL;DR

Yamaha Motor India has launched two new electric scooters, the AEROX-E and EC-06, and two petrol motorcycles, the XSR155 and FZ-Rave, signaling a major push into the Indian EV market and expanding its overall portfolio.

Yamaha Motor India has significantly expanded its product portfolio and marked its official entry into India's burgeoning electric two-wheeler market with the unveiling of two new electric scooters, the AEROX-E and EC-06. The AEROX-E is positioned as a high-performance electric scooter, featuring a powerful 9.4-kilowatt electric motor and dual detachable 3-kilowatt-hour batteries, offering a certified range of 106km. It includes multiple riding modes and smart connectivity features. The EC-06, developed in collaboration with River Mobility, targets daily commuters with a more modest 4.5-kilowatt motor, a fixed 4-kilowatt-hour battery, and a certified range of 160km.

Alongside its EV offensive, Yamaha also launched two new petrol motorcycles: the XSR155 and the FZ-Rave. The XSR155 is a much-anticipated neo-retro roadster, priced at Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom), sharing its platform with the R15 and MT-15. The FZ-Rave, priced at Rs 1.17 lakh (ex-showroom), joins the FZ lineup as a city-friendly option with a muscular design and a 149cc engine.

Yamaha plans a gradual introduction of these EVs, starting with India's top four cities, with pricing and market rollout details expected in the first quarter of 2026. The company also announced plans to introduce ten new models by the end of 2026 and update over 20 existing models as part of its growth strategy in India.
