TL;DR

Tata Motors confirms plans to launch both an electric variant and an all-wheel-drive internal combustion engine version of the new Sierra, expanding its lineup.

The newly launched Tata Sierra is set to expand its appeal significantly with the confirmation of upcoming electric (EV) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) internal combustion engine (ICE) variants. The SUV, which has already received an overwhelming response from buyers, will see its electric derivative launched in the second quarter of 2026. This EV will be built on the Acti.ev platform and will offer a dual-motor AWD system.

Beyond the electric version, Tata Motors has also confirmed that an AWD variant of the ICE-powered Sierra is under development, with a launch anticipated in early 2027. This will mark Tata's first ICE 4x4 offering since the Hexa was discontinued, utilizing the new ARGOS platform designed for various body styles and engine options including petrol, diesel, CNG, and hybrid. The AWD setup for the ICE model is expected to be paired with a 160hp, 1.5L turbo petrol engine and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
