TL;DR

Tata Motors announced plans to launch six new ICE and four new EV models by FY2031, including the Sierra EV, Safari EV, and the premium Avinya EV sub-brand, alongside numerous updates to existing vehicles.

Tata Motors has revealed an ambitious product strategy aimed at significantly expanding its portfolio with a blend of internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) offerings by FY2031. The Indian automotive giant plans to introduce six new ICE nameplates and four new EV nameplates, demonstrating a dual approach to cater to evolving market demands. This strategy also includes over 30 lifecycle updates, facelifts, and new variants across its existing models to maintain a competitive edge.

A key highlight of the EV roadmap is the highly anticipated Tata Sierra EV, which is slated to hit showrooms on June 30, 2026. This electric SUV is expected to share its powertrains with the Harrier EV and offer a claimed range exceeding 500km on a single charge. Following the Sierra EV, Tata Motors plans to introduce facelifts for the Tigor and Tigor EV, alongside the launch of the Tata Safari EV during the Diwali season this year.

The company is also establishing a dedicated premium EV sub-brand, Avinya, with its debut expected in late 2026 or early 2027. The first production-ready Avinya EV, based on the Chery-JLR Freelander EV architecture, is anticipated to go on sale by mid-2027, featuring premium features and advanced technologies. Furthermore, Tata Motors is reportedly developing a three-row electric MPV and a micro SUV (codenamed Scarlet) to enter new segments, with the micro SUV expected by the end of 2027.
