JSW MG Motor India has expanded its Windsor EV lineup with the introduction of a new fleet-focused variant named 'Commute'. Priced at ₹13.49 lakh (ex-showroom), this variant is specifically designed for taxi and commercial use, making electric mobility more accessible for fleet owners. The Commute variant is approximately ₹60,000 cheaper than the standard Windsor's base model and offers a battery rental option through MG's 'Battery-as-a-Service' plan, further reducing the upfront cost for commercial operators.
The Windsor EV Commute utilizes the same 38kWh battery pack found in the regular Windsor Excite variant, maintaining a claimed ARAI range of 332 km, which is suitable for city-oriented fleet duties. The core electric powertrain remains unchanged, featuring a motor that produces 134 hp of power and 200 Nm of peak torque. It supports both 3.2 kW AC charging and 45 kW DC fast charging capabilities, ensuring quick turnaround times for commercial operations. This strategic launch aims to tap into the accelerating demand for electric last-mile mobility solutions in India's urban markets.
