Hardeep Singh Brar, President & CEO of BMW Group India, highlighted that the vehicle-to-charger ratio has shifted from 1:250 to 1:175 within a single year, marking a very significant advancement.
Government data confirms that India now has 52,718 public charging stations operational nationwide, including 16,561 fast chargers. This expansion is aimed at alleviating range anxiety among EV users and is supported by funding under schemes like FAME-II and PM E-DRIVE, with allocations of ₹912.50 crore and ₹2,000 crore respectively, targeting major cities and highways.
