The data, based on vehicle registrations as of August 1, 2026 (excluding Telangana), was released by JATO.

Despite a slight month-on-month decline of 1.30% from June 2026, the year-on-year performance underscores the resilience and expansion of the two-wheeler segment. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India led the market in July with a 26.40% share, registering 449,468 units, a 22.98% increase compared to the previous year. Hero MotoCorp followed with 419,452 units, holding a 24.63% market share.

Electric two-wheelers also demonstrated a growing presence, accounting for 11.2% of total registrations in July. Among electric brands, Ather Energy recorded 28,540 registrations, a substantial 60.02% year-on-year increase, while Ampere saw a remarkable 124.85% growth with 9,592 registrations. The Hero Splendor Plus remained the highest-registered two-wheeler model during the month.
