The Indian automotive market is set to welcome a host of new turbo petrol SUVs throughout 2026, catering to a growing consumer demand for powerful and engaging driving experiences. Among the eagerly awaited models is the new-generation Renault Duster, expected to launch with a potent 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine producing 163 PS and 280 Nm of torque, available with both 6-speed manual and dual-clutch automatic gearboxes.
Skoda will introduce the Kushaq facelift, retaining its 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI turbo petrol engines, but with the 1.0-litre variant now paired with a new 8-speed AISIN automatic gearbox. Additionally, the Skoda Kylaq Sportline, also featuring the 1.0-litre TSI engine, will offer this new automatic transmission.
Nissan is also preparing to launch its Duster counterpart, the Tekton, which will share the same powertrain options as the new-generation Duster, with cosmetic differences being the primary distinction. Mahindra Automotive is gearing up for the Scorpio-N facelift, which will continue to utilize the 2.0-litre I4 mStallion 150 TGDi turbo petrol engine, delivering 200 bhp. These upcoming models highlight a strong focus on performance and advanced transmission technologies in the SUV segment.
