TL;DR

Honda has initiated bookings for its new CB500 retro roadster in India, aiming to challenge Royal Enfield and BSA in the mid-size segment with a 501cc engine and premium features.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has officially opened bookings for its all-new CB500 roadster at Honda Bigwing dealerships across the country. The motorcycle was recently showcased as part of a 10-model lineup intended for phased launch within FY27.

The CB500 is set to compete with established models like the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and BSA Gold Star 650 in the Indian market. It will be available in three trims: Alloy, Spoke tubeless, and Spoke tubeless with graphics, and is inspired by the iconic CB750, featuring premium elements such as all-LED lighting, a semi-digital instrument cluster, dual-channel ABS, and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC). Powering the CB500 is a new 501cc single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine, producing 27 hp and 43.3 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
