Hero MotoCorp has launched India's first mass-market flex-fuel motorcycles, the Splendor+ Flex Fuel and the HF Deluxe Flex Fuel. These models are capable of running on petrol blended with up to 85 percent ethanol (E85), marking a significant step towards cleaner mobility and reducing the nation's reliance on imported crude oil. The launch, held on June 3, 2026, was attended by Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Hardeep Singh Puri, highlighting the government's strong support for alternative fuel technologies.

The Splendor+ Flex Fuel is priced at ₹82,710 (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the HF Deluxe Flex Fuel costs ₹72,792 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Deliveries for these new motorcycles are scheduled to commence in July 2026, initially in Delhi and select regions of Maharashtra, with a gradual nationwide rollout to follow. Both motorcycles are powered by a 97.2cc single-cylinder engine, which has been specially engineered to operate efficiently with ethanol blends from E20 to E85.

This initiative not only promotes environmental sustainability by lowering carbon emissions but also aims to bolster the rural economy through increased demand for ethanol. The introduction of flex-fuel technology in high-volume commuter motorcycles is expected to bring this eco-friendly option to a substantial segment of the Indian two-wheeler market.
