Backed by Hero MotoCorp Chairman and CEO Pawan Munjal's family office, this innovation addresses a critical need in India's last-mile mobility sector by offering a rapid and affordable transition to electric power. The system features a proprietary battery capable of a 15-minute rapid charge.
Exponent Energy aims to convert between 2 to 2.5 million auto-rickshaws across India's top 20 cities, targeting the substantial installed base of 8-10 million auto-rickshaws. The conversion process involves removing all fuel-based components and installing Exponent's electric powertrain, extending the vehicle's life and offering drivers potential monthly savings of up to ₹5,000. This initiative is set to simplify, afford, and sustain electric mobility for auto-rickshaw drivers, significantly contributing to urban air quality and operational cost reduction.
