TL;DR
Delhi's MCD plans to install large EV charging and battery swapping hubs at parking lots and Metro stations to boost electric vehicle adoption.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is moving forward with plans to set up integrated electric vehicle (EV) charging hubs, complete with battery swapping facilities, at prominent locations such as parking lots near markets and Metro stations. This initiative aims to significantly expand Delhi's public charging infrastructure to support the increasing adoption of electric vehicles.
Unlike standalone charging points, these proposed hubs will feature more than 25 charging stations each, catering to various vehicle types, including electric cars and two-wheelers. The MCD is currently identifying suitable sites and inviting proposals from public sector undertakings specialized in EV charging infrastructure, ensuring robust security measures for the extensive equipment.
