Officials confirmed on January 9, 2026, that the committee's extensive agenda covers crucial aspects such as charging infrastructure, battery waste management, subsidy disbursement, and last-mile connectivity.
A key objective for the committee is to conduct a scientific study to assess the current number of CNG vehicles in Delhi and propose a viable plan to transition all of them to EVs within a year, starting April 1, 2026. The revised policy will also prioritize the establishment of EV charging stations under flyovers and set annual targets for both private and semi-public charging infrastructure, along with long-term plans for land allocation to support increased EV adoption.
