Ashok Leyland Unveils State-of-the-Art Electric Vehicle Production Facility in Lucknow

Hinduja Group's Ashok Leyland inaugurated a new electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on January 9, 2026. This facility, spanning over 70 acres, is the company's first manufacturing plant in the state and is designed with a strong focus on sustainable production practices.

The new plant has an initial annual production capacity of 2,500 commercial electric vehicles, with plans to expand it to 5,000 units in phases. It incorporates eco-friendly features such as rooftop solar panels, energy-efficient LED lighting, battery-operated in-plant logistics, and a zero-discharge system, reflecting Ashok Leyland's commitment to clean mobility. The facility is also expected to contribute significantly to local employment and skill development.
