TL;DR
The Hyundai Creta Electric, launched in India, aims to overcome EV compromises by offering the comfort and practicality of the ICE Creta with enhanced electric performance and technology.
Hyundai Motor India is addressing common hesitations about electric vehicles with the Creta Electric, an SUV that builds on the strengths of the popular Creta while integrating the benefits of electric mobility. Launched in India as the country transitions into 2026, the Creta Electric positions itself as a natural evolution of India's favorite mid-size SUV, challenging the perception that EVs require compromises compared to traditional petrol and diesel vehicles.
The Creta Electric retains the spaciousness and practicality of its ICE counterpart, thanks to smart engineering that avoids loss of cabin space due to battery packaging. It boasts a flat floor and a 433-litre boot, complemented by an additional frunk for extra storage. The vehicle is equipped with a 51.4 kWh battery, offering a claimed 473 km (MIDC) range, and supports fast-charging from 10% to 80% in under an hour.
Hyundai has also upgraded the tech experience, incorporating elements from premium EVs like the Ioniq 5, such as a steering-mounted drive selector and EV-specific design cues. Features like Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology and Electric Boss Mode enhance its utility and rear-seat comfort, aiming to make EV ownership a familiar yet superior experience.
