TL;DR

Royal Enfield's retro-inspired Flying Flea S6 and Ultraviolette's futuristic Shockwave electric scramblers are poised to electrify the adventure motorcycling segment in India.

The Indian adventure motorcycling segment is on the cusp of an electric transformation with Royal Enfield and Ultraviolette gearing up to launch their new electric scramblers. Royal Enfield is set to revive its iconic 'Flying Flea' name with the Flying Flea S6, a retro-inspired electric motorcycle. This model, unveiled at EICMA 2025, will mark the company's entry into the electric vehicle space.

Meanwhile, Ultraviolette is preparing to introduce its futuristic electric scrambler, the Shockwave. This modern challenger boasts features like dual LED headlamps, four traction control modes, switchable dual-channel ABS, and six levels of regen. Powered by a 14.5bhp motor and a 3.5kWh battery, the Shockwave claims 505Nm of torque at the rear wheel, a 0-60kmph acceleration in 2.9 seconds, and a top speed of 120kmph.

Both manufacturers are aiming to redefine on/off-road electric performance, with the Flying Flea S6 offering a vintage aesthetic with a finned magnesium battery case for weight saving, and the Shockwave pushing boundaries with its advanced technology and striking modern design. The launch of these electric scramblers is anticipated to significantly impact the adventure motorcycle market in India, providing riders with sustainable and high-performance options.
