TL;DR

Tata Motors has launched petrol variants for its Harrier and Safari SUVs, powered by a new 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine offering 170 PS and 280 Nm of torque, with manual and automatic gearbox options.

Tata Motors has finally addressed a long-standing demand by introducing petrol-powered variants for its popular Harrier and Safari SUVs in the Indian market. Both SUVs will now be available with a new 1.5-liter turbo-petrol (T-GDi) engine, a unit that is also shared with the recently launched Tata Sierra.

This new petrol engine delivers 170 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque, offering a versatile performance suitable for both city driving and highway cruising. Buyers will have the choice of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Tata Motors has meticulously tuned this engine specifically for the Harrier and Safari, ensuring that performance remains uncompromised despite their substantial size.

Alongside the new powertrain options, Tata Motors has also rolled out a series of feature upgrades, refreshed interior themes, and new color options for both the Harrier and Safari, aiming to keep these SUVs competitive and appealing in the bustling Indian automotive landscape.
