Major Seven-Seater SUVs from Mahindra, Tata, and Kia Set for 2026 Debuts in India

TL;DR

Mahindra's XUV 7XO and an updated Scorpio N, Tata's petrol Harrier/Safari, Kia's Sorento-based SUV, and Renault's Boreal are among the new seven-seater SUVs launching in India in 2026.

The Indian SUV market is set to expand significantly in 2026 with several new seven-seater models from major automakers. Mahindra is preparing to launch the XUV 7XO, a facelifted version of the XUV 700, featuring revised styling and interior upgrades. Additionally, an updated Scorpio N is also expected, retaining its petrol and diesel engine options alongside 2WD and 4x4 configurations.

Tata Motors is also venturing into new territory by introducing petrol engine options for its flagship SUVs, the Harrier and Safari. These models will feature a new 1.5L direct injection turbocharged petrol engine, aiming to offer more competitive pricing and boost sales. Kia is slated to launch a Sorento-based seven-seater SUV, which will feature specific powertrain configurations tailored for the Indian market and will compete directly with the Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV 7XO.

Renault is also preparing a three-row version of its upcoming third-generation Duster, named the Boreal, slated for the latter half of 2026. This larger SUV will share engines and transmissions with the five-seater Duster but will feature distinct design elements and a modern, feature-rich cabin.
