Mahindra & Mahindra officially launched the XEV 9S, a new all-electric 7-seater SUV, in India on November 27, 2025, with introductory prices starting at INR 1.995 million. This marks a significant expansion of Mahindra's electric vehicle lineup, reinforcing its strategy to capture a larger share of the growing electric SUV market.
Built on the advanced INGLO EV platform, the XEV 9S is designed to offer spaciousness and a smooth, silent driving experience. It comes with multiple battery options, including 59 kWh and 79 kWh packs, with the larger pack claiming an estimated range of around 500 km on a full charge. The SUV boasts modern features such as sleek LED lighting, a closed front grille, a three-screen digital layout, and advanced safety systems including seven airbags and L2+ ADAS.
The XEV 9S aims to attract higher-ticket customers in the utility vehicle segment, which accounts for nearly half of the market's revenue. Test drives for the new electric SUV are slated to begin on January 5, with bookings opening on January 14, and deliveries commencing from January 23, 2026.
