Hyundai Outlines Ambitious India Growth Plan: 26 Models by 2030 and Major Electrification Push

TL;DR

Hyundai plans to launch 26 new models in India by 2030, expand manufacturing capacity, and aim for 50% electrified vehicle sales as part of its ambitious growth strategy.

Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled an ambitious India strategy, planning 26 new product introductions by 2030, alongside significant capacity expansion and a target for electrified vehicles to account for half its sales. Outlined at its 2026 CEO Investor Day, this roadmap positions India as a major manufacturing, export, and growth hub for the global automaker. The product offensive will commence with a locally developed entry-level electric SUV in the fourth quarter of 2026, followed by a new internal combustion engine mid-size SUV.

Hyundai also intends to add approximately 3.2 lakh units of manufacturing capacity in India and increase local sourcing to 90% by 2030, with about 30% of its Indian production slated for export. Electrification is central to this expansion, as Hyundai anticipates electrified vehicles will contribute 50% of its India sales by 2030, significantly higher than the estimated 30% for the overall market.
