Honda Eyes India Comeback with City Facelift and New Hybrid SUV

TL;DR

Honda is planning a major comeback in India with the launch of a facelifted City and a new ZR-V hybrid SUV in 2026, alongside plans for 10 new models by 2030.

Honda Cars India is preparing for a significant resurgence in the Indian market, with plans to launch a facelifted version of the Honda City sedan and a new premium hybrid SUV in 2026. After facing intense competition, the Japanese automaker aims to aggressively push new products to regain market share. This strategic initiative includes introducing up to 10 new models by 2030, alongside an all-new 'O' Alpha EV currently undergoing testing.

The refreshed Honda City, now in its fifth generation, is expected to feature updated LED headlamps, a new grille, revised bumpers, and new alloy wheels. Interior enhancements may include updated upholstery, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, and a 360-degree camera system. Alongside the City, Honda will introduce the ZR-V, a premium hybrid SUV, which will be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). It is anticipated to be powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder hybrid petrol engine paired with an e-CVT gearbox, promising excellent fuel efficiency.
