Electric vehicle manufacturer BYD has announced a price increase for the Premium variant of its Sealion 7 SUV in India, effective January 1, 2026. The price of the Sealion 7 Premium has been raised by ₹50,000, now retailing at an ex-showroom price of ₹49.40 lakh, up from ₹48.90 lakh previously.
BYD cited an increase in manufacturing costs as the primary reason for this price revision. However, customers who placed their bookings on or before December 31, 2025, will still be billed at the older price. The pricing for the Sealion 7 Performance variant remains unchanged at ₹54.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
The BYD Sealion 7, equipped with an 82.56 kWh battery pack, has achieved a 5-star safety rating under Euro NCAP and has recorded sales of over 2,300 units in the Indian market since its introduction.
