BMW F 450 GS Production Commences in India Ahead of India Bike Week Reveal

TL;DR

BMW has started production of its F 450 GS adventure motorcycle in India, with an official reveal expected at India Bike Week 2025, featuring a new 420cc engine and advanced tech.

BMW has officially initiated the production of its F 450 GS adventure motorcycle in India, taking place at the TVS plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. This move further solidifies the long-standing partnership between BMW and TVS, which recently celebrated the production of over 200,000 units together. The new F 450 GS is widely anticipated to make its official Indian debut at India Bike Week 2025, scheduled for December 19-20.

Globally, the F 450 GS was first showcased at EICMA 2025. BMW plans to introduce four variants in India: Basic, Exclusive, Sport, and GS Trophy. Powering the motorcycle is an all-new 420cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, which generates 48 bhp at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. It is expected to feature a six-speed manual gearbox, with potential for a semi-automatic option in the future.

Several dealerships have already begun accepting unofficial reservations for the F 450 GS, indicating significant rider interest even before the official launch. The motorcycle boasts a rugged yet futuristic design, featuring an 'X'-shaped DRL-equipped LED headlamp inspired by the larger R 1300 GS. Technical highlights include multiple riding modes, ABS Pro, traction control, drag control, a 6.5-inch TFT display, and heated grips as standard.
