FZ-S V3 BS4 bikes are now 6 years old and entering the replacement window. The symptoms are the same as any FI fuel pump failure:
- No priming buzz on ignition — Turn the key and listen for ~2 seconds of pump pre-pressurisation. No buzz means pump motor failure.
- Hard cold starts — Multiple cranks needed before the engine fires on cold mornings.
- Stalling at low fuel levels — Clogged strainer causing stalling at idle when the tank is nearly empty.
- Throttle hesitation — Brief stutter when opening the throttle from standstill.
