ZF has won a multi-year contract in India to supply thousands of its highly efficient AxTrax 2 LF electric portal axles for city buses, supporting both domestic and global electric mobility.

ZF, a global technology company, has secured a significant multi-year contract with a prominent Indian OEM for thousands of its advanced AxTrax 2 LF electric portal axles. This deal marks a crucial step in bolstering India's electric mobility infrastructure, with the axles destined for both the domestic market and global export channels.

The AxTrax 2 LF electric portal axles are designed to deliver a 20 percent efficiency gain over the previous generation, which translates to reduced battery requirements and extended driving ranges for city buses. These high-performance axles boast continuous power of up to 360 kW and a peak torque of 36,800 Nm, powered by dual PSM hairpin motors and an 800 V silicon carbide (SiC) inverter with advanced oil cooling.
