Royal Enfield Preparing for Himalayan 440 Launch Later This Year

TL;DR

Royal Enfield is set to launch the Himalayan 440 in late 2026, positioned as an affordable adventure tourer inspired by the Himalayan 411.

Royal Enfield is reportedly working on a new adventure motorcycle, the Himalayan 440, with an expected launch in the second half of 2026. Internally codenamed D4G, this model is anticipated to serve as a spiritual successor to the discontinued Himalayan 411, bridging the gap between the Scram 440 and the more advanced Himalayan 450. The Himalayan 440 is expected to be priced competitively, in the range of ₹2.50-₹2.70 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a more accessible option for adventure enthusiasts.

The upcoming Himalayan 440 will likely share its platform and the 443cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine with the Scram 440, producing similar power and torque figures of 25.4 bhp and 34 Nm, respectively, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Its design is expected to draw heavy inspiration from the original Himalayan 411, featuring a rugged character, a lower saddle height, and functional aesthetics, albeit with modern graphics and an LED headlamp. The motorcycle is set to feature longer suspension travel and run on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels fitted with tubed dual-purpose tires, prioritizing affordability over premium features like tubeless tires or multiple ride modes.
