Renault has confirmed that its popular Triber MPV will soon receive a significant powertrain upgrade with the introduction of a turbo-petrol engine in India this September. While the exact launch date remains under wraps, this update aims to address the demand for a more powerful option in the seven-seater segment.
The upcoming Triber Turbo will be powered by a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, capable of producing 99bhp and 160Nm of torque, matching the output of the Kiger's turbo-petrol unit. Additionally, the Triber will undergo a platform change, moving from the CMF-A platform to Renault Group's Entry Platform (RGEP). This new variant will be sold alongside the existing naturally aspirated engine, which generates 71bhp and 96Nm. A turbo-CNG version has also been spotted testing, indicating further expansion of its offerings.
