Ola Electric has launched its latest electric scooter, the S1Z, bringing its indigenously developed Bharat Cell LFP (Lithium Ferro Phosphate) technology to the mass market. This move aims to make advanced battery technology more accessible to a wider range of Indian consumers. The S1Z is positioned as a scooter that prioritizes technology, safety, and performance for the value segment.

The new S1Z integrates Ola's 46-series LFP cell platform, which was developed at the company's Battery Innovation Centre and is being manufactured at the Ola Gigafactory. Available in 3.1 kWh and 5.1 kWh variants, the S1Z offers introductory pricing of ₹79,999 and ₹99,999 (ex-showroom) respectively. The 3.1 kWh variant promises a range of up to 179 km, while the 5.1 kWh variant can achieve up to 301 km (IDC).

Ola Electric states that by developing and manufacturing its LFP technology in-house, it has significantly reduced battery costs, a major component of an electric vehicle's overall price. This strategy is central to making next-generation battery technology available at mass-market price points, ultimately accelerating the adoption of EVs across India. Deliveries for the 3.1 kWh variant are slated for December 2026, with the 5.1 kWh variant following in March 2027.
