Nissan Unveils Ambitious India Strategy: New Models and Expanded Network by 2027

TL;DR

Nissan reveals a major expansion plan for India, including two new car launches in 2026 (Gravite MPV and Tekton SUV), a 7-seater SUV in 2027, and an increased dealership network to 250 touchpoints by 2027.

Nissan is set to significantly bolster its presence in the Indian market with a comprehensive strategy that includes introducing new vehicle models and a substantial expansion of its retail and service network. The automaker has confirmed plans to launch two new cars in 2026, alongside minor updates to its popular Magnite compact SUV. This strategic push aims to revitalise Nissan's offerings and reach a broader customer base across India.

Among the anticipated launches are the Nissan Gravite, a new multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) based on the Renault Triber, expected in January 2026, and the Nissan Tekton, a stylish C-segment SUV poised for a June 2026 release. The Gravite will feature unique styling elements while likely retaining the Triber's 1.0-liter petrol engine. The Tekton, inspired by the high-end Nissan Patrol, will sport a new grille and sleek lines. Looking further ahead, Nissan plans to debut a brand-new 7-seater SUV in 2027.

Complementing its product offensive, Nissan India also intends to expand its dealership and service network from approximately 150 showrooms currently to 200 before the Tekton's launch and further to 250 by the time the 7-seater SUV is introduced. This network expansion, spanning metro, tier-2, tier-3, and tier-4 cities, is crucial to ensuring robust support for its growing product portfolio and enhancing customer accessibility.
