Mercedes-Benz India anticipates a significant acceleration in its electric vehicle (EV) sales, driven by the planned introduction of numerous new EV products over the next 18-20 months. The recent launch of the new CLA BEV, positioned as an entry-segment offering, is just the first step in an extensive electrification roadmap for the Indian market.

Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, stated that the company has over 40 global EV launches planned, with many of these products, including the new GLC BEV and C-Class EV, expected to arrive in India next year and beyond. These upcoming models are anticipated to substantially contribute to the company's overall sales volumes.

Currently, EVs account for approximately 6-8% of Mercedes-Benz's total sales in India. While this figure is expected to remain in that range this year, the full impact of the expanded electric portfolio is projected to materialize in the next 12 to 18 months, once a comprehensive range of electric vehicles is available across all segments.
