Mahindra Outlines Expansion of Electric SUV Portfolio for Indian Market

TL;DR

Mahindra plans to launch four new electric SUVs in India, including models with a new 70 kWh battery pack and a future flagship grand tourer EV.

Mahindra, a prominent SUV manufacturer in India, is set to significantly expand its electric vehicle (EV) lineup with four new electric SUVs planned for launch in the coming years. These upcoming models are part of the brand's commitment to electric mobility, building upon its existing EV offerings.

Among the detailed plans is the introduction of a new 70 kWh battery pack option for models like the BE6 and XEV 9E. This new battery pack is expected to generate 242 bhp and 380 Nm of peak torque, offering a claimed driving range of 600 km. The BE6 with this new battery option is anticipated to be launched later this year. Mahindra is also working on a production version of the BE 07, expected in 2027, which will feature a triple-screen setup, augmented reality display, and panoramic sunroof. Furthermore, a flagship grand tourer EV, positioned above the XEV 9E, is in the pipeline for late 2027 or 2028, promising a premium experience for occupants.
