Mahindra Group to Invest ₹15,000 Crore in New Integrated Auto and Tractor Manufacturing Facility in Maharashtra

TL;DR

Mahindra Group will invest ₹15,000 crore in Maharashtra to build a large integrated automobile and tractor manufacturing facility, supporting both ICE and EV production with a capacity of over 500,000 vehicles annually.

The Mahindra Group has announced a substantial investment of ₹15,000 crore over the next decade to establish its first integrated automobile and tractor manufacturing facility in Nagpur, Maharashtra. This significant development, unveiled during the Advantage Vidarbha event on February 6, 2026, marks a major step in Mahindra's manufacturing expansion strategy within the state.

The expansive 1,500-acre facility, expected to be operational by 2028, will dramatically boost Mahindra's production capacity for both vehicles and tractors in the medium to long term. It will be complemented by a 150-acre supplier park in Sambhajinagar, designed to provide components for the new Nagpur plant as well as Mahindra's existing facilities in Chakan and Nashik. Once fully operational, the integrated complex is projected to achieve an annual production capacity exceeding 500,000 vehicles and 100,000 tractors.

The new manufacturing unit is engineered to support diverse automobile platforms, capable of producing vehicles with both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) powertrains. Its strategic location in the Vidarbha region offers excellent road connectivity via the Samruddhi Expressway, convenient rail access, and close proximity to both domestic and export markets, which will be crucial for efficient logistical operations.
