TL;DR
Indian scooter exports have hit a record high of over 600,000 units in FY26, with Honda leading the market and other manufacturers showing strong growth.
India's scooter exports have reached an unprecedented milestone in the first 11 months of FY2026, surpassing 600,000 units for the first time. A total of 627,684 scooters were shipped to overseas markets, marking a 17% year-on-year increase and exceeding the previous best of 569,093 units recorded in FY2025. This robust growth highlights the increasing global demand for made-in-India scooters.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) emerged as the dominant player in this export surge, commanding a substantial 53% share of the total shipments with 332,814 units. HMSI's strong performance allowed it to surpass its previous highest exports of 311,977 units in FY2025. TVS Motor Company followed, shipping 98,398 units and securing a 16% share.
Suzuki Motorcycle India also demonstrated remarkable growth, with a 50% year-on-year increase in exports, contributing to an 11% market share. While geopolitical turbulence might temper March exports, the overall trajectory indicates that total scooter exports for FY2026 are expected to reach approximately 675,000 units.
