TL;DR

India's two-wheeler market saw a significant boom in October 2025, with over 2.8 million units sold, fueled by festive demand and GST reforms, and strong growth in the electric segment.

The Indian two-wheeler industry recorded a strong performance in October 2025, with retail sales exceeding 2.8 million units. This significant surge was propelled by the festive season demand, positive consumer sentiment, and the beneficial impact of recent Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms. Major players in the market reported robust figures, highlighting a buoyant period for the sector.

Hero MotoCorp led the market with 994,690 units sold, buoyed by strong rural demand and renewed customer confidence. Bajaj Auto also demonstrated an increase in domestic two-wheeler sales, notably topping the electric two-wheeler segment with over 31,000 units. The electric two-wheeler segment itself maintained impressive momentum, surpassing 120,000 units in monthly sales and achieving the one million mark over the past ten months, indicating a growing preference for sustainable mobility solutions in India.

Established manufacturers such as Bajaj, TVS, and Hero collectively accounted for over 50% of electric vehicle sales, suggesting increasing market consolidation among traditional automotive giants. Additionally, premium motorcycle brand Royal Enfield celebrated its highest-ever festival performance, dispatching 116,844 units, a 15% year-on-year increase. These figures underscore the robust health and continued expansion of India's two-wheeler sector.
