HPCL and V-GREEN Collaborate to Expand EV Charging Network Across India

TL;DR

HPCL and V-GREEN have partnered to install EV charging stations at HPCL fuel outlets across India, significantly expanding the national charging network.

India's electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure is set for a significant boost through a new partnership between V-GREEN, a global EV charging infrastructure company, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). This collaboration aims to establish EV charging stations at HPCL fuel outlets nationwide, leveraging HPCL's extensive network of over 24,400 retail outlets.

The initiative will see V-GREEN gradually installing charging stations at selected HPCL locations across various regions, enhancing accessibility for everyday EV users. This strategic approach will place charging infrastructure closer to highways, cities, and busy transit routes, where drivers already make regular stops. HPCL is not new to the EV sector, already operating over 5,300 EV charging points and approximately 150 battery swapping stations under its 'HP e-Charge' brand.

This partnership is crucial for India, which is the world's third-largest automotive market and is rapidly moving towards cleaner transport solutions. The availability of reliable and visible charging infrastructure is a major factor for EV adoption, and this collaboration directly addresses that need, supporting both the expansion of charging options and HPCL's broader commitment to alternative energy.
