Hero MotoCorp Announces Significant Investment in Andhra Pradesh for Manufacturing and EV Expansion

TL;DR

Hero MotoCorp is investing over ₹3,200 crore in Andhra Pradesh, including a new global parts center, to boost manufacturing capacity and expand its electric vehicle production.

Hero MotoCorp, India's leading two-wheeler manufacturer, announced a substantial investment plan exceeding ₹3,200 crore in Andhra Pradesh. This strategic move aims to significantly expand the company's manufacturing, logistics, and electric mobility footprint within the state. A key part of this investment includes setting up a new Global Parts Centre (GPC 2.0) in Tirupati, with an outlay of over ₹750 crore.

The expansion is projected to increase the annual production capacity at Hero's Tirupati plant to between 1.2 to 1.5 million units. Notably, the Tirupati facility is where Hero's entire electric vehicle portfolio is designed, engineered, and manufactured, underscoring the company's commitment to the EV segment. The investment is also expected to create approximately 4,000 new job opportunities in the region, strengthening the local economy and supply chain operations for both domestic and international markets.
