CESC Launches New 30 kV Fast Charging Station for Electric Vehicles in Mysuru

TL;DR

CESC has launched a new 30 kV fast charging unit for electric vehicles in Mysuru, aiming to boost eco-friendly transportation and potentially open to public use.

The Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) has inaugurated a new 30 kV fast charging unit for electric vehicles at its Mysuru office premises. This initiative, a collaboration with Zhiyan Electric, aims to bolster the region's eco-friendly transportation system and promote renewable energy usage.

The upgraded charging unit allows two electric cars to be charged simultaneously, with a full charge achievable in approximately 40 to 45 minutes using fast charging technology. While currently limited to CESC's official EVs for testing purposes, the corporation is exploring the possibility of making the facility accessible to the public in the future.

CESC officials highlighted that the increasing adoption of electric vehicles contributes to reducing air pollution and decreases reliance on imported fuels, aligning with the broader goal of promoting green energy. This development marks a significant step towards enhancing EV infrastructure in Mysuru.
