Tesla Inaugurates First Public Charging Station in Gurugram, Bolstering India EV Presence

TL;DR

Tesla has opened its inaugural public charging station in Gurugram, India, featuring Superchargers and Destination Chargers, marking a significant expansion of its EV infrastructure in the country.

Tesla has taken a significant step in strengthening its presence in the Indian electric vehicle (EV) market by opening its first public charging station in Gurugram. Located at DLF Horizon Center on Golf Course Road, this new facility is crucial for making EV ownership more practical and convenient in the country.

This launch follows closely after the establishment of Tesla's first Tesla Center in Gurugram, indicating a strategic effort to build a long-term foundation for electric mobility in India. The Gurugram charging station features 4 V4 Superchargers capable of charging up to 250 kW and 3 Destination Chargers with an 11 kW charging speed.

With this addition, Tesla now operates three charging locations in India, encompassing a total of 12 Superchargers and 10 Destination Chargers spread across Gurugram, Delhi, and Mumbai. The company also claims a high network uptime of 99.95%, ensuring reliable access for users and addressing a key concern for potential EV buyers regarding charging infrastructure outside city limits.
