Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles Bolsters Portfolio with 16 New Trucks, Including Five Electric Models

TL;DR

Tata Motors CV launched 16 new truck models, including five electric trucks ranging from 6 to 55 tonnes, expanding its clean mobility offerings and reinforcing its market leadership.

Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles (CV) has significantly expanded its product portfolio with the launch of 16 new truck models, prominently featuring five new electric trucks. Unveiled on January 20, 2026, the electric models—Ultra E.7, Ultra E.9, Ultra E.12, E.28K, and E.55S—are designed for various applications, ranging from city deliveries to mid-haul cargo and construction, within the 6 to 55-tonne range.

Alongside the electric offerings, Tata Motors also introduced four new internal combustion engine models from its Jamshedpur plant, built on a fresh platform to enhance performance and efficiency. This strategic move highlights Tata's commitment to clean mobility solutions while addressing the sustained demand for traditional trucks. The introduction of these electric trucks provides fleet operators with more options to reduce costs and meet evolving emissions standards, establishing India's widest selection of electric trucks in various tonnage categories.

The launch comes amid strong sales performance, with Tata Motors CV reporting 42,508 units sold in December 2025, marking a 25% increase year-on-year. The third quarter of FY26 also saw robust growth, with 1,15,577 units sold, a 21% jump primarily driven by heavy commercial vehicles.
