Renault India is poised to significantly broaden its product offerings by introducing seven new models, including several electric vehicles (EVs), as part of an aggressive strategy to capture a larger share of the Indian automotive market. This expansion aims to move the brand beyond its current limited unique offerings.
Among the anticipated electric launches are the Renault Kwid EV and the Renault Kiger EV. The Kwid EV is expected to debut early next year in the affordable electric car segment, with an estimated price range of Rs 9-12 lakh and a projected 250 km range from its 26.8 kWh battery. The Kiger EV, slated for an early 2027 launch, will directly compete with models like the Tata Nexon.ev and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV, also targeting a 250 km range.
Additionally, Renault plans to introduce the Kardian mid-size SUV by late 2026 or 2027, powered by a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. The Boreal, a seven-seater version of the Duster, is also expected around mid-2026, offering increased length and wheelbase. These new models will incorporate modern designs and advanced technology, such as large touchscreens and digital instrument clusters.
