Exclusive images have provided a first look at the KTM RC 160, an upcoming supersport motorcycle set to launch in India in the coming weeks. Expected to be priced between Rs 1.85 lakh to Rs 1.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the RC 160 shares its aggressive design and graphics with its higher-capacity sibling, the KTM RC 200.
The new RC 160 will be powered by the same 164.2cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine found in the KTM 160 Duke, which produces 18.7bhp and 15.5Nm of torque. KTM may adjust the final drive ratio to optimize for better top-end performance. The motorcycle is anticipated to share most of its cycle parts with the 160 Duke, including a WP Apex inverted front fork and a monoshock rear suspension, along with lighter alloy wheels.
Braking will be handled by a 320mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc brake, complemented by dual-channel ABS. The RC 160 is likely to feature an LCD console, similar to the initial launch configuration of the 160 Duke, positioning it as a direct rival to the Yamaha R15 4V in the 150-160cc performance-oriented supersport segment.
