This substantial growth is underpinned by key government initiatives, including the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for the Automobile and Auto Component Industry, approved in September 2021 with a budgetary outlay of ₹25,938 crore. Furthermore, the PLI Scheme for Advanced Chemistry Cell Battery Storage, allocating ₹18,100 crore, aims to establish 50 GWh of advanced battery manufacturing capacity within the country, further bolstering the domestic EV ecosystem.
