India's electric vehicle (EV) market demonstrated robust growth across most categories in March 2026, compared to February 2026. Electric two-wheeler (E2W) sales saw a sharp increase, rising to 1,91,067 units from 1,12,628, while electric four-wheeler (E4W) sales climbed to 22,315 from 14,712 units.
The growth extended to other segments, with E3W L5 Passenger vehicles increasing to 23,468 units and E3W L5 Cargo/Goods carriers rising to 3,710 units. E-goods carrier sales also saw an uptick to 1,885 units, and e-carts experienced a marginal rise to 7,424 units.

EV penetration in the 2W segment increased from 6.6% in February to 9.8% in March, and in the 4W passenger car/cab segment, it rose from 3.7% to 5.1% during the same period.
