Indian Motorcycle has officially unveiled the 2026 Chief Vintage, a new variant that pays tribute to the iconic Chief model from the post-World War II era of the 1940s. This release is part of the bikemaker's 125th-anniversary celebrations, showcasing a blend of classic aesthetics with modern performance.
The Chief Vintage features distinctive design elements reminiscent of its historical predecessor, including a valanced fender with a headdress ornament, a retro tear-drop shaped fuel tank, and a free-floating seat. Despite its vintage styling, the motorcycle is mechanically similar to other variants in the contemporary Chief lineup. It is powered by the Thunderstroke 116CI engine, a 1,890cc air-cooled V-twin motor delivering 156Nm of torque.
Modern features include a 4-inch round TFT console with turn-by-turn navigation, three riding modes (Sport, Tour, and Standard), and a cruise control system. The 2026 Indian Chief Vintage, rolling on 16-inch cross-spoke wheels with balloon tires, aims to offer a perfect homage to America's golden era of motorcycling while incorporating today's technology.
