Tata Motors continued its dominance in the Indian electric vehicle market, leading February 2026 sales by delivering 5,558 EVs, a 39% year-on-year increase from February 2025. This performance secured a 41% market share for Tata in the mass-market EV segment. While models like the Harrier EV, Nexon EV, and Tiago EV maintained strong demand, the Punch EV facelift is expected to further accelerate sales.
Mahindra witnessed a remarkable 473% year-on-year surge in February, taking the third spot with 2,913 e-SUVs retailed, capturing a 21% market share. MG secured the second position with 3,310 EVs sold, holding a 24% market share despite a slight year-on-year decline. Newer entrant VinFast also made an impact, retailing 384 units and achieving a 3% market share in its fifth month of sales.
