VinFast has patented the design of its VF 8 electric SUV in India, indicating a potential future launch of the flagship EV in the country.
VinFast, the Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, has officially patented the design of its second-generation VF 8 electric SUV in India. This move follows the updated model's global debut and suggests either stronger intellectual property protection or a potential launch strategy for the Indian market.
If introduced in India, the VF 8 would position itself above the VF 7, serving as VinFast's flagship SUV in the country. The 2026 VF 8 showcases VinFast's evolving design language with a more modern and sporty appearance, including distinctive full-width wing-shaped LED daytime running lights and a redesigned interior. The second-generation model features a 60.13 kWh battery pack, offering a range of 500 km, and an increased power output of 228 bhp with 330 Nm of torque in its front-wheel-drive configuration.
