Tata Harrier Petrol Variant Expected to Launch in December 2025

TL;DR

The Tata Harrier is expected to launch its petrol variant in India this December, featuring a new 1.5-liter GDi turbo-petrol engine with manual and automatic transmission options.

The much-anticipated petrol version of the Tata Harrier is expected to be launched in India this December. Recent spy shots have revealed a Dark Edition of the SUV, suggesting that the new petrol powertrain will be available across various trims.

Powering the Harrier petrol will be Tata's new 1.5-litre GDi Hyperion turbo-petrol engine. This engine is anticipated to produce around 158 bhp and 255 Nm of torque. Buyers will likely have the option of choosing between a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. This marks the first time since its 2019 launch that the Harrier will offer a petrol engine option.

The introduction of the petrol variant aims to broaden the Harrier's appeal in the competitive SUV market, complementing its existing diesel offerings. It is expected to retain popular features such as a panoramic sunroof, large touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated seats, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
