Royal Enfield Gears Up to Launch Two New Scrambler Motorcycles, Including an Electric Model, This Year

TL;DR

Royal Enfield is set to launch two new scrambler bikes this year in India: a 450cc petrol model and an electric scrambler under its new 'Flying Flea' brand, diversifying its motorcycle portfolio.

Royal Enfield is expanding its scrambler motorcycle portfolio with plans to introduce two new models in India this year. The lineup will feature a 450cc petrol-powered Scrambler and an all-electric scrambler, set to be launched under the company's new electric-only 'Flying Flea' brand.

The petrol model, expected to be called the Scram 450, is positioned to offer a more road-friendly experience than the Himalayan, while still retaining capabilities for light trails and broken roads. It is anticipated to feature a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup, along with a more compact design, round headlamp, and upright riding position. Power will come from the 452cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder Sherpa engine, similar to the Himalayan 450, producing around 40.02 hp.

The electric scrambler, the Flying Flea S6, signals Royal Enfield's foray into electric motorcycles, offering a versatile alternative in the burgeoning EV two-wheeler segment. While the petrol Scram 450 is expected to launch in 2027, the announcement of both models this year underscores Royal Enfield's commitment to diversifying its offerings and venturing into electric mobility.
