India's vehicle market in Q1 FY27 (April-June) showed a distinct regional divide, with Maharashtra emerging as the top state for passenger and commercial vehicle sales, accounting for nearly 1.5 lakh units out of over 12.7 lakh passenger vehicles sold nationwide.
Uttar Pradesh, however, led the two- and three-wheeler segments, with over 8.8 lakh units sold out of approximately 56.3 lakh two-wheelers. The western zone collectively saw the highest passenger vehicle sales at 3.9 lakh units.
